Building Services Engineering (BSE) Skills Limited is a not-for-profit company, established as a joint venture by SELECT, the Scottish & Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) and the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA).
Established in June 2017 following the closure of SummitSkills, we manage and develop National Occupational Standards (NOS), qualifications and apprenticeships for the building services engineering sector across the UK, as well as addressing the wider skills needs of the sector.
Working collaboratively with other key stakeholders, we are dedicated to delivering the sector’s skills agenda, recognising the need to establish mutual recognition and transportability of all BSE qualifications across the UK, as well as the specific needs of each industry within each region.
Representing more than 43,000 businesses and around 342,000 operatives, our mission is clear:
To develop and drive forward the skills agenda within the sector by working collaboratively with other key stakeholders, delivering the type of skilled people that employers are looking for and that the sector needs, both now and in the future.
